CANAL WALK
Reputed to be the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere with 350 stores covering 192 ha and including restaurants, cinemas, automated banking machines and entertainment. It is built on marshy land along the banks of the Grand Canal with a mini rail link to Ratanga Junction theme park.
VICTORIA & ALFRED MALL
Prince Alfred, son of Queen Victoria inaugerated the Alfred Basin in 1860 - See the BMW Pavilion, which houses the Imax Cinema. Site of a huge shopping, entertainment and restaurant mall. Included is the Two Oceans Aquarium, the Maritime Museum, a "Scratch Patch" for semi-precious stones, the Clock Tower, Time Ball Tower, floating exhibits, the Red Shed Craft Market and a cinema complex.
FLEA MARKETS
Green Market Square became a market in 1710 where fruit and vegetable growers and farmers sold their wares. Open every day except Sunday - stalls sell virtually anything. Green Market Square is surrounded by cafés, coffee houses and quaint little shops.
GREEN POINT FLEA MARKET
Only open on a Sunday - Practically anything that you could imagine is sold here in open air stalls.
BRIC-A-BRAC SHOPS
The pedestrian mall of Church and Burg streets offer bargains and possibly an antique or two.
