RHODES MEMORIAL
Situated on the slopes of Devils Peak is the Rhodes Memorial which commemorates the life of Cecil John Rhodes who was a powerful force in the shaping of events in the 19th century South Africa.
Rudyard Kipling inspired the inscription under the bust
of Rhodes, and reads "The immense and brooding spirit still shall quicken and control. Living he was the land, and dead, his soul shall be her soul".
The memorial also incorporates GF Watts's statue, "Physical Energy"
From the memorial, there are fine views of the Cape Town suburbs and the Hottentots-Holland mountains

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens - Home to the Restio Garden, the Cycad Amphitheatre, Colonel Bird's Bath, the Useful and Medicinal plants section and many more points of interest. The plants are almost 100% indigenous. Kirstenbosch supplies plants to horticulture throughout the world and the Cycad garden proves the continental drift of Africa, South America, Australia and Antarctica.
